Herbert Ypma who is not only a great writer and photographer (Hip Hotel series / sold millions of books in the last years) is a very dear friend, and married to my BBF/BFF. Herbert and I worked together on my first book 'RSVP Simple Sophistication Effortless Entertaining', and our first Marie France Van Damme collection campaign <http://www.mariefrancevandamme.com/campaigns/>. Herbert was in town last week to shoot our next catalogue. We were lucky to work with Rosemary Vandenbroucke who is not only a beautiful model, but a really wonderful girl. Unfortunately , it rained, poured, rained and poured during the 2 days of the shooting. I live next to the sea in what feels like an exclusive resort, 15 minutes away from the buzzing city of Hong Kong. Most people, and most Hong Kongers, don’t know, that paradise exists right here. That you don’t have to "fly away" to find white sand beaches and blue water. We have all this. We had planned a day on the boat to shoot our beachwear featherweight caftans and swimsuits, and one day at my pool for a more "day going into night" look. We had to shoot everything inside the house or under the rain at the pool. I think Herbert took great photos taking into account the terrible weather. He was also very patient with all the other models… Boubou, Momo, the Duponts, Aisha...who were posing for each and every picture and in his way. As I write this 2 days later, the sun came out, the weather is gorgeous, Herbert is back in London, he says it’s raining and pouring.
