What does Jet Set mean to you?
Jet Set to me is a well-traveled person who knows how to navigate in new places and who finds undiscovered gems everywhere they go. The more I travel the more I want to discover new places. That’s true Jet Set.
Where are your favorite holiday destinations?
Tulum, Mexico. Phuket, Thailand, Tel Aviv, Israel or the Aegean Sea.
Where should one go to see and to be seen?
The Hamptons are the best spot during the summer months. I love Sant Ambroeus in Southampton for breakfast and Tutu Il Giornio in Sag Harbor for great Italian food. Sunset beach on Shelter Island is always happening with great music and a beautiful crowd, it’s the closest thing to St. Tropez you can find in the US. What is your favorite travel find?
In Antwerp, Belgium last summer I found a beautiful Jaeger-LeCoultre desk clock from the 1930s all made of brass and crystal. Its rare and in mint condition. Also on that trip I found a beautiful replica of Auguste Rodin, it was done by one of his students. In India I found a beautiful and very rare resting Buddha sculpture that is in my office, and reminds me not to over stress...
What are your travel essentials?
My Hermes passport travel case, which is chic and functional...a Panama hat and cashmere scarf. I am always traveling with swim trunks of course, and magnesium pills to help with jet lag!
Tell us the most extravagant request you ever received?
About three years ago, we created a special candle for a royal wedding with the crest hand engraved with platinum set into the porcelain. It took almost three months of work for our artisans to make one for each guest attending the wedding. It was incredibly detailed and intricate work, yet still modern.
