Still Searching For the Perfect Christmas Party Dress? A Chic LBD Is The Ideal Solution.
The average woman now spends almost 50 hours planning and perfecting their style for the Christmas party season, according to new research. This amounts to all the waking hours for THREE days focused on what to wear and how you’ll look. Around 21 hours of that time is spent shopping for a show-stopping outfit - and at this time of year it’s easy to be blinded by rail after rail of clothes adorned with sequins, glitter and crystal. We’ve all been there – opting for something full of sparkle in the hope that we too can channel our inner Beyonce or Diana Ross – whether it suits our skin tone, body shape, or personal style or not. “You do not want to look like a Christmas tree,” says Marie France Van Damme. “All too often people overdo it during the holiday season especially with all the glitter on the market. You need to be careful about it.” The solution is to channel your inner Audrey Hepburn instead – and opt for a chic little black dress. Marie France explains: “I would call the cami dress a perfect little black dress. It is a great choice for the Christmas party season. It’s a simple
piece that you can accessorize from day to night.” A recent poll found 73 per cent of women own at least ten little black dresses at any one time, but it is worth investing in one made from top quality material and which has a flattering cut. “This should be a key part of your wardrobe as not only can you dress it up for Christmas parties.” She adds. “You can also use it as a more casual number for events in the summer or the winter.” “The cami dress is also great because you can make it look different each time you wear it. There is nothing worse than having a dress or outfit that you can no longer use because people remember you have repeatedly worn it before.” While many people seem to think they should vamp things up for their Christmas party, it is good to remember that you still want to be seen as professional by colleagues. This frock is good because it isn’t too short, it has an attractive but not plunging neckline, and it is flattering to most body shapes – so it will forgive some of the festive indulgences.
